Shammara McKay

Shammara McKay is a New York City-based photographer specializing in street photography. Shammara first picked up a camera in 2011, but it wasn’t until a trip to Barbados in 2017 that her love for capturing everyday life was sparked. That trip prompted Shammara to develop her photographic voice, and she’s carried a camera with her almost every day since, capturing candid moments that might otherwise go unnoticed stating "I love how street photography allows you to immortalize moments that might otherwise go unnoticed and construct your own narrative." With her passion for capturing the beauty of everyday life, Shammara’s work has been featured in Women Street Photographers collective, Street Photography Magazine and Shots from the Soul collective.
